After suing Nintendo over the motion-sensing accelerometers used for
Wii Remotes, iLife has been awarded $10 million by a Texas Jury.
テキサス陪審裁はiLifeの特許を侵害したとして任天堂に対して1000万ドルの賠償を命じる判決を下した。

Nintendo has provided a statement explaining
"On Aug. 31, 2017, a jury in Texas found that certain Wii and Wii U video game systems and
software bundles infringed a patent belonging to iLife Technologies Inc. related to detecting if a person has fallen down.
任天堂は以下のような声明を出した。
「8月31日の判決においてWiiとWii Uのシステムとソフトウェアが
iLifeテクノロジーの人が倒れているかどうか認識する技術特許を侵害していると判決を下しました」

"The jury awarded iLife $10 million in damages. Nintendo disagrees with the decision,
as Nintendo does not infringe iLife’s patent and the patent is invalid. Nintendo looks
forward to raising those issues with the district court and with the court of appeals."
「1000万ドルも違反金積みやがって絶対に控訴してやるぞクソ野郎」

This award is significantly less than what iLife was originally seeking back when
the case was raised nearly four years ago. Dallas law firm Munk Wilson Mandala originally
filed a $144 million infringement case, on behalf of the company which used the motion sensing
technology to monitor infants and the elderly.
これはiLifeが四年前に提起した額よりかなり低い。
